AFC West: Quarterbacks Under Pressure

Week #3 of the preseason is in the books and PFS has charted how the quarterbacks performed when they were blitzed and under pressure. Every fan has seen the regular stats on the quarterback like the QB rating, the touchdown to interception ratio, the completion percentage, and even the 5+ targets seen here on Pro Football Spotlight. But how does the quarterback do under pressure. Is he better? Worse?
In this article, we will look at three quarterbacks in the AFC West: Philip Rivers, Kyle Orton, and Matt Cassel. We will check out all the QBs in the AFC West (Raiders also) in the regular season.
Let’s take a look at those numbers…
Are McCluster and Gaither The Chiefs Newer Versions of Metcalf and Roaf?

If you are as old as I am, you may remember a guy that came out of Texas University named Eric Metcalf. Eric was at one time the NCAA long jump champion and a number one pick of the Cleveland Browns. He had raw speed and a rare full speed cutting ability that reminds me of the Kansas City Chiefs own Dexter McCluster.
Metcalf was a back on the lighter, faster side of the running back spectrum that excelled in space and was valued for his receiving, kickoff, and punt return ability. He had a wiggle and jiggle that got him past many a defender in his day.
Is Dexter McCluster the Chiefs version of Eric Metcalf?
Preseason Broncos vs Seahawks: Breaking Down The O-Line Tape

The Denver Broncos took on the Seattle Seahawks this past Saturday. This was a game that the coaches and fans could see the starters for both teams play a significant amount of reps.
In this post, you will find a film breakdown of every offensive play in the first half (we will break down the entire game when the regular season starts). After breaking the film down you will find grades and notes that might help you understand what you might have missed in the trenches while the play was going on.
In the Seahawks game Chris Kuper had a power blocking score of +3. That means he dominated his defender three more times than the defender dominated him. He also graded out in the 90s in pass protection. So how did the other offensive lineman do? Where are the weaknesses of the line and what are the strengths?
Lets look at those offensive line grades for the first half only…
Preseason Raiders vs Saints: Breaking Down The Tight Ends And Fullback

The Oakland Raiders took on the New Orleans Saints Sunday and dropped to 0-3 in the preseason. This was a game in which the coaches and fans could see the starters for both teams play a significant number of reps.
In this post, you will find a film breakdown of the Fullback and Tight End positions on every offensive play in the first half (we will break down the entire game when the regular season starts). After breaking the film down, you will find grades and notes that might help you understand what you might have missed in the trenches while the play was going on.
Brandon Myers had the best day run blocking in the Raiders/Saints game. Although, he was inconsistent and graded out to only a 77%. His power blocking score was a +2.
Lets look at those blocking grades for the first half only…
