Spotlight

The Chiefs had a breakout season in 2010. But the losses at the end of the season all had a common theme.

1. All three opponents had one very good cover corner.
2. All three opponents where more physical than the Chiefs at the LOS.
3. All three opponents coached linebackers to played down hill football.

Chiefs Offensive Line 2010: Last 4 Games

One of the areas that improved the most in 2010 for the Chiefs was the offensive line. Not that the line does not need any improvement in 2011, they do. The Chiefs took big strides in the area of improving their pass offense in 2010 . Charlie Weis came to Kansas City and installed an offense that some might say was best suited for what the Chiefs needed at the time. In 2010, the Chiefs ran the ball and frequently used a passing offense that allowed Matt Cassel to get rid of the ball quickly.

Chiefs Rushing Tendencies 2010

The Kansas City Chiefs picked themselves up after the 2009 season, dusted themselves off, and proceeded to go from worst to first in the AFC West. A large part of that turn around was the success the Chiefs had running the ball. In fact, they had so much success running the ball they finished the 2010 season ranked 1st in the NFL in number of rushing attempts with 556.

The Chiefs also finished the season with the best rushing yards-per-game than any other team in the NFL with 164.2. But guess who was a close second? The Oakland Raiders. Yes, another team from the AFC west that is knocking at the door. the Raiders had 52 less attempts over the course of the season and had a higher yards per carry (4.9) than KC (4.7).
